During a sold-out match held at Martin Stadium on September 21, the UCLA Bruins stunned the crowd after scoring 50 points in the last 19 minutes of the game, earning a 67-63 win against the Washington State Cougars.

The UCLA Bruins had no prior victories going into the game and were behind 32 points before the third quarter ended. However, the Bruins managed to peel off 29 points in under five minutes, leaving a three-point margin to tie the Cougars with 14 minutes still left in the game. The Cougars held the 63-60 lead with just three minutes remaining, but suffered a false-start penalty and then lost a fumble. UCLA linebacker Josh Woods took the ball and passed it to Thomson-Robinson, who then linked up with Felton on a third-down pass for a touchdown, securing the remarkable win for the Bruins.
